Peer-to-peer support is the foundation by which The Frederick Center built its organization. We offer programs for all ages and backgrounds!

Queer & Trans Clothing Swap
Join us for our twice-annual Queer and Trans Clothing Swap at The Frederick Center! All week, from Monday the 2nd – Friday the 6th, we are accepting clothing donations from 9-4pm of MAXIMUM TWO TRASH BAGS FULL of good-condition clothes. Then, on Saturday the 7th from 1-5pm, join us to grab all the clothes you want, no prior donation required. All clothes are FREE, all-gender, and open to anyone who needs them. We hope to see you there!

Spark: Annual Prism Awards Gala
Join us for an unforgettable night of dinner, stories, and celebration. The Prism Awards Gala returns on Sunday, October 4th, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Thorpewood in Thurmont. Each year, The Frederick Center awards distinguished allies, advocates, and organizations that go above and beyond to protect and advance LGBTQ+ rights and the well-being of our local LGBTQ+ community in Central Maryland. For over a decade, we have celebrated countless heroes with our Prism Awards, and we hope you will join us in honoring their work. Enjoy: a festive cocktail hour • a decadent meal followed by our annual award ceremony • heartfelt stories of advocacy, passion, and life-changing moments • talented performances and special guests • one-of-a-kind art and experiences at our silent auction and raffle. Funds raised by the Prism Awards Gala directly contribute to the mission and programs of The Frederick Center, funding life-changing peer support programs, educational outreach, and social events that help our LGBTQ+ community thrive.
